back to the drawing board

Kind of left this on a bad note. Things got better, and I had a lovely weekend. Lots of nerves today while waiting for this afternoon's randomization. Nurse just called. I got put on the GMCSF arm (the one I didn't want)! A bit bummed, I really thought I would be doing the vaccine. Only 1/3 of the people get the GMCSF, but I'm good at beating odds. I knew I would drop out the trial if this was the arm I was put on.

So. Surgery on Tuesday. Stoked about that. Now to find something I qualify for after to take care of any cancer cells floating around....

  4. Did you get to go see your dad speak in person? I was there and it was really great. I couldn't stop thinking of all the people I care about going through tough trials right now (you obviously up at the top of that list), but I know what he said was true. I am not surprised you came from him. He did an amazing job raising such an incredible girl. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. We all love you and planning for years of watching your ride your blue bike with that big Ginger running along side and your four handsome boys all around you.

  6. Sorry you had to be some of the inspiration for the talk :( That is the crummy part.
But it was very well spoken, and will surely be referred back to by many.

Be strong tomorrow. You are still in our prayers- as is Steven, as we hope he is positively plugging along.

  7. Last week I was talking to Sonja and in a 20 minute phone conversation two of your sisters and your mom called her cell phone to try to figure out what to do to help you feel better. :-)
We'll say extra prayers for you tomorrow.

  8. Dear Alisa,
We have never met, but I live in the same ward as Rich and Vickie. Years ago, my children, including my daughter Amy, were involved in the ALPS program, and that is where we first met the Linton family. Amy said that she also knew both you and Josh at Jordan High. I am now Vickie's visiting teacher. Just wanted you to know that we were thinking of all of your family. Know that we know that you are greatly loved and known by name to Heavenly Father and the Savior. With all our hearts we believe that He hears and answers prayers and that "all things shall work together for your good..." (D&C 90:24)We have learned something about trials in the past four years. We know that "everything will be all right in the end. If everything isn't all right now, then it isn't the end." (Unknown author) We pray that you will be blessed and sustained as you navigate this challenging part of mortality. My daughter Amy joins me in wishing you all the best and comfort and peace in every moment of this trial. Our best wishes, too. Mary Rasmussen (and family)
