something wicked this way comes

What's worse than a brain tumor?  How about TWENTY FIVE brain tumors?!  I didn't even know that was an option.  It seems very extreme, and the Dr. says not common.

It is bad (really bad).  But not hopeless.  I will start IPI (Yervoy) next week in combination with the oral chemo Temador.  Explanations to come, but now I need to catch my breath (and change the laundry, and water the flowers, and feed the kids).

  2. That sucks, Alisa, but thanks for the update. We're praying for you. I think Seth repeated that 3 times in his prayer tonight.

  12. So heartbroken to read this. I am thinking that this is what the nurse meant when she said it gets worse (exceptionally worse) before it gets better (exceptionally better)! You are a fighter and it is inspiring! Love you! You are in our prayers!

  15. Tears and so many prayers for you... I did read something last week from Neal A. Maxwell and thought of you... "The Lord knows our bearing capacity, both as to coping and to comprehending, and He will not give us more to bear than we can manage at the moment, though to us it may seem otherwise...President Brigham Young said of a geographical destination, 'This is the place.' Of God's plan of salvation, with its developmental destinaion, it can be said, 'This is the process!"
Your process seems so hard. You are so strong.

  16. Alisa-I have been wanting to say something all week, but honestly, this kind of news leaves me speechless. I've been thinking about how I'm about the same age you were when you were first diagnosed, and let me tell you, making that comparison has only increased my respect and love for you. I am literally in awe. You handle everything with so much grace and hope. You are always thinking of others. You have amazing boys who are kind and intelligent and respectful. Honestly, I don't know how you have done it all. You are amazing. Even though we feel like we're kind of in the background when it comes to those who are helping and supporting you, we love you so, so much, and we think about and pray for you almost constantly.
