mean time

I am having my results reviewed by some different doctors, and meeting with another surgeon on Friday next week. Surgery most likely the week after. It has been so hard to hear all the different opinions on what to do next. I'm good at being told what to do and getting it done. But they all say they can't tell me what is best. I just can't wait around here anymore. We are headed to Kauai this morning. It's the only thing that is feeling right right now.

  1. Oh...text me a picture when you get there! I am SO happy you get to be there! To me, it's the 'happiest place on earth'! It must be such an overwhelming decision to make-I pray you'll be able to sort it all out! Love you tons! Go eat a shave ice every chance you get!

  2. I think the ocean can help decisions. Or at least put them out of your mind long enough to calm you down so that you can take another look at them in a different way. Lots of prayers going your way!

  6. Kauai is the only Hawaiian island I have been to. You are in for a treat. I didn't know hibiscus came in so many colors!! Hope you took your camera with you so you can share the beauty of the "garden island" with us.

  7. Somehow I knew you'd be going to some place beautiful. Come visit us sometime. I think the shaking we have here might take your mind off things for a while. I love you and I'm praying for you and Steven and Sonja.

  8. Alisa! It hurts my heart to hear the news! Keep strong lady and remember to listen and watch for all the little miracles along the way. Cause you know from the first time you will find many!

  10. Alisa - I have been thinking about you and praying for you a lot. You have been on my mind so much. I am taking a medical anthropology class at school and we read an article about 'clinical narratives' and cancer. I was of course thinking about you the whole time, especially when the article talked about a woman who said the worst part for her of cancer was that no one could tell you exactly what you were suppose to do and that she had all these meeting with doctors and there was still no clear or easy decision about treatment. I read it and thought, "this is so hard and so seems like the worse kind of gamble to have to make." I am praying for you.
